Henri Billiot, Cuvee Laetitia

H. Billiot is a small Champagne "grower-producer" from one of the grand cru villages of Montagne de Reims.  Champagne from this region is generally made from Pinot Noir, but this non-vintage Cuvee Laetitia is primarily Chardonnay with a small percentage of Pinot Noir added for body. Cuvee Laetitia is named after Billiot's daughter Laetitia and is an effervescent pale straw in color.  It is dry with a complex structure of lemony citrus and fresh biscuits with a creamy texture and lengthy finish.
