Pierre Gimonnet is one of the smaller grower houses of Champagne
that absolutely deserves discovering. The Gimonnet family
have been cultivating their vines in the villages of Cuis,
Cramant, and Chouilly, on Champagne's famous Cote des Blancs, since
1750. The Gimonnet's restrict themselves to working solely with
Chardonnay sourced from high quality plots on the Cotes des Blancs.
The Pierre Gimonnet Special Club 1999 is pale yellow in color, with
a nutty aroma of apricot pit, peach, and marzipan. It is lush and
round in texture with lemon and ginger flavors.
