Pol Roger, Brut

The house of Pol Roger came to be named as we know it today in 1900, when two sons Maurice and Georges honored their father by changing their surname to Pol-Roger, and thus also their family business- the Champagne house. Maurice Pol-Roger was mayor and a beloved figure in Epernay for almost 50 years.  Pol Roger Brut is a blend of almost all equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.  The nose has light bready notes, with white fruits, apples, and biscuit. The palate is gentle and creamy in nature, and rounds off with a nice, appealingly bitter finish.
