Schramsberg, Blanc De Blancs

Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was America's first commercially produced, Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. It was famously served by President Nixon in 1972 at the "Toast to Peace" in Beijing, China. Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc is dry and crisp, with flavors of crisp apples, creamy lemon, and tangy pineapple. Hints of fresh baked brioche and toasted hazelnut round out the nose and palate. From Wine Spectator: "Lush and supple, offering creamy citrus and Asian pear aromas, with nicely layered lemon curd, cinammon and ginger flavors that build to a light, crisp note."
